At Homespun Hearth we are so
excited to bring to you the new Roses of Remembrance
Quilt and BOM! In the Fall of 2009, quilters
from around the world were invited to take the EQ
Challenge and create their own version of a Rose of
Sharon Quilt Block. The only constraints were
that they needed to feature the gorgeous collection
of Island Batik Fabrics, and they had to use only a
specific set of blossoms, leaves, circles, and 1/4"
stems to complete their blocks.
Over 800
blocks were entered into the challenge, and together
with Ricki Timms and Alex Anderson, Sharon Pederson
put together this stunning Roses of Remembrance
quilt that features the 12 winning blocks and a
special block by Sharon Pederson.
Now you can make and own this gorgeous
heirloom! With the same gorgeous Island Batik
Fabrics, instructions to complete the quilt as
shown, and a variety of aids to help guide you
through this gorgeous wonderland, you can complete
this quilt is just 13 months*.
Below we have
listed a variety of aids, including the book, dvd,
backing, stensils, die cuts and threads that you
will want or need to complete the quilt. Pick
and choose those items you need.
We also have
3 Roses of Remembrance packages, 1 Accuquilt
package, and items for individual purchase -
something for every budget.

Rose of Sharon
Book & DVD
The instructions to
complete the Roses of Remembrance quilt are
included in both the Book and the DVD, and
you will need either the book or the DVD to
complete the blocks and quilt.
The Rose of Sharon Book has all images,
requirements and instructions to complete
the quilt as shown, as well as 60 additional
blocks from the EQ Challenge are featured.
The Rose of Sharon DVD, along with the
images, requirements and instructions the
are found in the book, also has instructions
for a Quilt-As-You go method and it
also showcases an additional 122 blocks that
were entered in the Challenge.

was that each quilter was to use specific
blossom, leaf, and circle sizes.

Fabric
The original Rose of Remembrance by
Sharon Pederson was completed with a
Quilt-As-You-Go Method, and is explained in
the Rose of Sharon DVD. This image
shows the gorgeous back that showcases the
Aurifil Threads and stunning blocks on the
Island Batik fabrics. The backing also
includes the sashing and border fabric
required to complete the quilt-as-you-go
backing.

of Sharon Stensil Set
The Rose of
Sharon Stencil was designed by Sharon
Pederson to use with the block patterns in
her DVD: Sharon Pederson Presents Rose of
Sharon, Winning Designs from the EQ6 Block
Challenge and her book: The Rose of Sharon
Block Book, Winning designs from the EQ6
Challenge. Every size of the three allowable
shapes is included in the stencil set.
